incorrigble crones
they are incorrigble.
Three Incorrigible Crones are Berni, Jo and Julia, three lifelong learners whose paths have wound through education, creativity, community work, embodied practice and personal encounters with grief.
Berni spent many years helping people find greater physical and emotional ease through Conscious Connected Breathing and the Alexander Technique. Her attention is now drawn towards creative exploration and the art of dying.
Jo has spent a lifetime resisting teaching while remaining passionately devoted to learning. Working in colleges, universities and other institutions allowed her to share processes of inquiry without claiming the role of teacher. Now happily retired, she explores the edges of warm data through writing, painting, dancing, play and conversations about loss, death and dying.
Julia is a great-grandmother with a doctorate in adult education and a continuing engagement with community gardening, singing and language learning. Her experience of losing her adult son when he died at 34, has deepened her commitment to listening for expressions of grief and joy across generations. Poetry remains one of the ways she continues an enduring conversation of love.
Together, the Three Incorrigible Crones create spaces for reflection, storytelling, questioning and connection. They are interested in what happens when people gather with curiosity rather than certainty, and when conversations about death become conversations about how we live. Their work invites participants to bring their own stories, questions and wisdom into the circle.
They host Kendal Death Cafe and will be an incorrigble part of our Sondering Support Team.
