'DEATH DOULA + CONFLICT RESOLUTION FACILITATOR
A young girl with mixed heritage (Chinese American) wears a homemade halloween spider costume. She stands on steps holding a colourful paperbag, two Jack O Lanterns can be seen on the steps.

Rachel Clara Reed is a death doula, conflict resolution facilitator, documentary filmmaker and artist interested in where these paths meet: in storytelling and the power of spaces where people can speak into the taboo.

As a mixed heritage, third generation Chinese-American, she’s drawn to in-between spaces: the thresholds between life and death, conflict and connection, speaking and silence.

Rachel has hosted over 200 people at death dinners, intimate gatherings where strangers share a home-cooked meal and gently explore their relationships with mortality.

Now, she is expanding her practice to support individuals and families navigating tender end-of-life conversations. A lover of play and experimentation, Rachel also co-creates joyfully weird immersive parties with her partner and is exploring ghost stories as portals into collective storytelling.
