the sondering
rydal cave ritual

past voices. present voices.

Walking together from The Sondering festival site on Saturday evening, we will arrive at Rydal Cave.

There we will explore the darkness, resonance and natural acoustics of this beautiful space in a vocal ritual led by Dave Camlin and Katherine Zeserson from Mouthful, exploring the darkness together through the kinship of our collective voices.

Rydal Cave was carved by hand over 200 years ago as part of Loughrigg Quarry. Today it is a well loved landmark that reminds us of the hands that have gone before, and calls us deeper into time with our shared ancient history. Caves have long been used for shelter and safety, as ritual spaces and ceremonial homes. What will emerge as we share this space and our voices?
